Real Madrid are determined to build a theme park, but why?

Real Madrid have been likened to a circus more than once over the course of the Spanish club’s long, and frequently chaotic, history. 

Los Blancos, however, are more interested in building a theme park. A Real Madrid theme park.

Florentino Perez has long wanted to take on Disney and Universal in the world of rollercoasters and there are plans in place for that to happen.

Dubai will be home to a Real Madrid theme park – the first-ever theme park based around a football club – with an agreement reached for the construction of the project last year. It will be open by the end of 2024.

Why, however, do Real Madrid want to build a theme park in the first place?
